Tell the story
Here is the presentation of my packaging. I started shipping few years ago and continue to improve my technic to keep the prints safe during an incredible journey around the World.
Once the print is signed and numbered front and back, i insert it into a plastic sleeve with a Drawinside card. (large cards variation i should present on a next post).
To protect the print, i use cardboard sheets : 2 or 3 layers are the best and to get more assurance, i cross the cardboard sheets, so it make the parcel very difficult to bend. (i don't say impossible as there are always someone strong enough to bend it).
Then i insert the package inside the reinforced cardboard brief. Here are some pictures of the packaging process :
I really prefer to print on heavyweight paper but larger prints are hard to roll and unpleasants marks appears when unrolling the print. so i use a lighter paper than can bear roll and unroll operations. It is approx 120gsm paper. Once printed, signed and hand numbered, i roll it with my rolling machine and keep it in shape with customised paper strips.
I put a plastic protection all around the poster to make easy the insertion and extraction of the print inside the postal tube.
Rolling items banned
Postal tubes can't be shipped this way with the postal services : rolling objects can't be flashed or read by camera during sorting process in the postal facilities.
Every rolling object is put aside every time it enters a sorting machine (at least 10 times when shipped locally), and wait for human assistance to read the address and is then routed to the next destination. This can take up to 4-5 more days when shipped at the international, just due to the "rolling" aspect of the parcel.
And they ask for extra money for theses as they need human assistance !
So, what i do is : I insert the postal tube inside a cardboard box slightly bigger, that can't roll. And it's Ready to be mailed ! Here are some pictures of the packaging process:
Little help to a dog Shelter
I think it's because my dog is from a Dog Rescue that i did participate. It's time and Energy dedicated to abandonned Dogs, it makes them very special and unique. Mine is very good at eating bread, unique design and stubborn as hell so it's mandatory to read dog training book to handle it.
Need a Sports coach ?
Wish you a very healthy year in 2017, and for thoses who still have difficulties to get up in the morning (it's completely normal in January), you can get a sports coach very easily.
Mine is from a Canine shelter Rescue, always up for a walk/Run or cycle whatever the weather looks like. It's very cheap for the hour, just need some bread and treats, water for the drinks and caress.
The problem is that you will do sport everyday all the year round...
"Poum" keep me healthy i guess !
And special mention to Herbie, a 1963 Volkswagen Beetle, featured in several Walt Disney motion pictures starting with the 1968 feature film The Love Bug.
Herbie is distinguished by red, white and blue racing stripes from front to back bumper, a racing-style number "53" on the front luggage compartment lid
Tracking the parcels
As i won't be present at the studio between the 20th and 25th of December 2016, i have gathered some tracked parcels to see how is the post dealing with the Postal Xmas rush.
Non-tracked parcels are going as fast as tracked one so have a look at your destination and date of shipping so you will see where the parcels are :
how do we say "WoW" in Piedmont ?
You should say "Countach" -had to be pronunced "Koon Tasch"- And this is what the people say the first time they saw this car : the lamborghini Countach ! (The expression is from a local Piemontese dialect that seems difficult to translate without offending someone. It is the sort of thing a northern Italian male might say to express appreciation of a particularly attractive female)
Why a Charging Bull ?
Story of a Custom picture
KerrieAnn contact me in August, she wanted to offer a geat gift for a newlywed couple. I start to slow down my custom productions, i still keep open the door for works here and there with max of 2-3 cutom orders per month. Custom artworks give me great ideas and suggestions for my next work.
So i did take the order and started recently the drawing.... and here are all the things i've discovered :
thanks kerriean for all theses discovery ! Hope the couple will like their picture as well - it's a Xmas gift so don't say a word until the 25th of december !
